28 July 2008
Tony Newport, Business Consultant for Fronde will speak at the BA World Symposium in Wellington on July 28th and 29th. The topic: 'Surprise them early – Using a RAP to open stakeholder eyes'
Two of the critical success factors for any project are communication with and between the stakeholders, and stakeholder understanding of the project. Too many times, the stakeholders get nasty surprises in the middle of the project, when they find out what they are paying for, what they are getting and who is expected to do what. Using an agile approach to define the project scope and boundaries right at the start helps to ensure that all stakeholders (including the business analysts) go into the project with their eyes wide open. An agile RAP (rapid planning) session is a useful tool to increase stakeholder understanding and communication.
