Quotable Value rates .NET development as a hot property

The desire for a significantly quicker online response time was the driver behind the redevelopment of Quotable Value's online valuation system.

"Fronde provided the high quality .NET developers to design and build the application. Microsoft, as a trusted partner throughout, provided the .NET framework expertise and guidance, from the planning stages through to the final deployment. A great three-way partnership with QV that we continue to build on."

Bryce Johnson, General Manager, Information Technology, Quotable Value New Zealand Ltd

Client

Quotable Value Limited (QV) is New Zealand's largest valuation and property information company.

The company provides rating and current valuations for 1.7 million residential, rural, commercial and industrial properties. Hits to QV's website number seven million a month.

Challenge

In 1999 Fronde developed the Quotable Integrated Valuing System (QIVS) for use by QV's valuers. The success of the QV system caused user demand to grow substantially, increasing the complexity of the application.

In 2002 QV asked Fronde to split the integrated QIVS system into separate internal and external systems, the aim being to provide a far quicker online response to web-based subscribers including real estate agents, councils, valuers and banks.

Solution

Fronde used a Microsoft .NET solution to provide a fast and easy system development that is easy to support. The development also included web services, SMS and WAP capability, allowing users to view a property and receive information about it immediately via their mobile phone or PDA.

Business result

The difference in performance has been spectacular. System response times have decreased by around 70% and more complex information is now available within seconds.
