Fronde Anywhere - TXT-a-Park™

Increased convenience for the motorist, increased revenue per council

Gone have the days where you needed loose change to pay for you parking. Savvy mobile phone users on all mobile networks can now pay for their parking space using a mobile commerce service developed by the Fronde Anywhere team and Cash Handling Systems.

Customers have cottoned on to the concept which is the first in the world to offer pay-by-phone parking services that don't require pre-registration. Auckland City Council announced a 27% increase in revenue from trial machines; Wellington City Council reports that 13% of total parking revenue is from TXT-a-Park™ phone payments.

The service is available on all mobile networks including GSM and CDMA.

The goal to expand the service to all mobile users in New Zealand is on schedule. Because of the success of this trial, Councils are now fast-tracking decisions to include pay-by-phone options in every city.

TXT-a-Park™ is currently available in five major cities with more councils signing up every 2-3 months. This interest supports the future vision of having a national, ubiquitous hub of mobile payments for parking services.

Payments are applied to the mobile phone account (prepay and postpay). The service can also be configured for payment direct to the bank account; or from other types of vending machines.
