Agile Project Management

Fronde understands that IT projects have the greatest success when we employ the best people, the best technologies and the best methods. When it comes to project management methodology, our extensive experience proves that Agile is the best method for today’s environment.

“We have found it easy to embrace Agile methods as its guiding values – honesty, integrity, trust and courage - are strongly aligned with Fronde’s core values.”

What is Agile Project Management?

Traditional project management methodologies were designed for stable engineered projects, but these days projects (and organisations) are increasingly dynamic and creative. With its emphasis on flexibility and adaptability, Agile Project Management (APM) reflects this shift.

  • innovative business requirements;
  • complex stakeholder inter-relationships;
  • unstable requirements within evolving organisations;
  • constrained deadlines, budgets and people; and
  • a tight focus on strategic alignment and added value realisation.

Business Benefits

  • APM fully integrates quality, project risk and cost-benefit into the planning and management process.
  • Underlying everything is the open and collaborative partnership between the project manager and the client.
  • RAP’s increase the quality of estimates and risk assessment.
  • Whole-of-life means we don’t walk away when the software’s delivered.

Fronde and Agile Management

APM starts by establishing a mutual understanding – between stakeholders and the project team – of the business benefits the project is expected to deliver, and the processes that are required to realise those benefits. Fronde achieves this through facilitating a Rapid Planning Session (RAP) – a workshop between stakeholders, team members and the business owner.

Fronde strongly believes that it is the key differentiators of APM that make it such a successful methodology for managing projects, specifically:

  • early and full engagement of stakeholders;
  • distinction between content and context;
  • speed of responsiveness and adaptivity;
  • whole-of-life approach.

Why Fronde?

Fronde has acquired considerable expertise in using Agile for both project management and development processes. Fronde is the only New Zealand company in the field that enjoys a direct partnership with Rob Thomsett  the APM author and trainer.
